HOW MUCH TO GIVE / PLEDGE?

Our Sacrifice, His Miracle Capital Stewardship campaign logo"Each one should give, then, as he or she has decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly. And God is able to give you more than you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause." 2 Corinthians 9:7,8.

How much to give is a question each one of us must answer in his/her heart. A goal of this magnitude cannot be realized without generosity. It is simply not enough to give something we can afford, nor should our gift in any way decrease our weekly giving to the church budget.

Making a weekly or monthly pledge is often an easier way to commit. It is as easy as 4 steps:

Step # 1- Think of what you can afford to cut on or to save for this project. You will definitely want to check out the pledge payment chart to see what your weekly pledge will add up to in 2 or 3 years. You will be amazed!

Consider the following:
If you donate $7.75 /week towards the future of the S.D.A. Church at Kinderhook, what are you giving up?

- less than 3 gallons of gas
- 2 greeting cards
- 1 game of bowling with shoe rental
- 2 video rentals
- 2 McDonald's Big Macs
- 1/2 of a large pizza

Think of it as taking Jesus out for lunch once a week!

Step # 2 - After you have arrived at an amount, prayerfully ask yourself these questions:

1. Am I proud (before God) of the amount of my gift?
2. Does this gift reflect my love of God and the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Kinderhook?

Step # 3
- Print and fill out the commitment card and either mail it or drop it at church. You may also contact Pastor Steve or JoAnn Christensen (church treasurer and director of the follow-up committee) for a commitment card or if you have any additional questions about this Capital Stewardship campaign and our new church.

Step # 4
- Remember to keep your promise (a commitment to God's cause). This project will depend on everyone keeping his/her promise!

With your contribution, the future earthly home of the SDA Church at Kinderhook will indeed become a reality.

Thank you and God bless!
